Daily Darshan began as a simple idea: a quiet, uncluttered place online where someone could pause for a minute or two — light a virtual diya, read a verse, and carry a little stillness into the rest of their day. It is built for the moments between things: before a difficult meeting, after a long commute, on a Tuesday evening when Hanuman feels close, or during the lead-up to Diwali when Lakshmi is on everyone's mind.
We currently host five shrines — Ganesha, Hanuman, Shiva, Lakshmi, and Krishna — chosen because they are, across multiple independent surveys of devotional practice in India, among the deities most widely felt to be close to daily life. Each shrine includes a short, carefully sourced introduction to the deity, a set of classical mantras and verses drawn from named, verifiable texts (the Hanuman Chalisa, the Bhagavad Gita, the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam, and similar sources), and a simple offering ritual.
Daily Darshan is an independently run devotional project. We are not a temple, a temple trust, or a registered religious organisation, and we do not collect donations on behalf of any deity or institution. The site exists to offer a small, calm space for personal reflection, and is supported by limited, clearly-labelled advertising rather than direct donations.
We take care to source every verse and mantra from named, identifiable texts, and we credit the specific verse or chapter wherever one exists (for example, "Hanuman Chalisa, Verse 24" or "Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 47") rather than presenting devotional content without attribution. If you notice an error in a transliteration, translation, or attribution, we genuinely want to hear about it — please reach out via our Contact page.
The illustrations used for each deity are sourced from Pixabay under the Pixabay Content License, which permits free use for projects such as this one. We do not claim ownership of these images and are grateful to the original artists who released them for free use.
